Job Description

Aramark is a global leader in food, facilities, and uniform services, proudly serving millions of guests every day across 15 countries. Known for its commitment to delivering quality experiences and innovative solutions, Aramark operates with a core mission to do great things for its employees, partners, communities, and the planet. The company fosters an inclusive work environment where diversity and equal employment opportunities are fundamental principles. Aramark's dedication to professional growth encourages employees to develop their talents, pursue their passions, and reach their full potential. With a strong presence worldwide, Aramark’s services span food, facilities management, and transportation solutions, making it a dynamic and multi-faceted organization.

The Driver II position at Aramark is a vital part of the company’s transportation operations. This role primarily involves operating a variety of company vehicles including buses, shuttle vans, straight trucks, and boat-hauling vehicles, depending on the driver’s Commercial Driver License (CDL) classification. Drivers with a Class B CDL manage vehicles under 26,000 pounds such as passenger buses or combination vehicles with air brakes, while those with a Class C CDL typically operate non-air brake passenger buses. The focus of the role is to provide efficient, safe, and reliable transportation services that ensure a positive experience for passengers and guests.

The responsibilities of a Driver II include conducting thorough daily vehicle inspections prior to and after routes to maintain vehicle safety and performance. Maintaining a clean and pleasant atmosphere inside and outside the vehicle is essential to enhancing the guest experience. Safety is paramount, requiring the application of all available safety equipment, consistent use of seat belts, cautious driving, and adherence to road rules and company policies. Drivers must be defensive, safe, and courteous, fostering a positive image of the company through exceptional customer service.

In addition to passenger transport, the role may involve moving equipment and supplies between locations, requiring versatility and attention to detail. Drivers should be knowledgeable about the property and surrounding areas to act as concierge resources for guests. The job often demands physical tasks such as lifting luggage up to 80 pounds and performing routine vehicle maintenance including fueling, cleaning, and safety inspections. Identifying and reporting any vehicle malfunctions promptly is a critical duty to ensure safety and continuity of service.

The Driver II must keep detailed and accurate logbooks, coordinate with the Transportation Office dispatcher to fulfill special or group requests, and may also undertake additional duties such as clerical work, answering phones, or dispatching. Some drivers might be responsible for propane dispensing in accordance with federal laws and handling transactions at cash registers, requiring knowledge of safety data sheets and chemical handling procedures.

Aramark values innovation and encourages its drivers to contribute ideas that improve operational efficiency and service quality. Participation in all scheduled safety meetings and adherence to company policies regarding emergencies, safety, security, and energy conservation are mandatory. The company’s culture supports ongoing skill development and adaptability, with the understanding that job duties can evolve to meet operational needs. This opportunity offers a professional working environment with a focus on safety, customer service, and teamwork, ideal for individuals who thrive in dynamic, community-oriented roles in transportation services.
