They are well known for fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment where employees can thrive while making a real difference in the lives of patients and their families. The organization emphasizes core values such as respect, integrity, and innovation, which drive its mission to extend the healing ministry of Jesus Christ.
The role of Delivery Driver at CHRISTUS Health is crucial in ensuring the efficient and timely transport of essential medical supplies, equipment, mail, and other items needed to support the operations across their hospital system. This position is a per diem role, offering flexible scheduling as needed, allowing for work-life balance while playing a vital part in healthcare delivery. The delivery driver is responsible for following designated transportation routes, operating assigned vehicles safely, and maintaining the vehicle through routine checks and servicing. Strong organizational and time management skills are essential as the driver handles multiple deliveries and must maintain accurate documentation for each transaction.
This position demands adherence to Department of Transportation regulations and requires a valid driver’s license relevant to the state of employment. Experience with courier driving and a clean driving record are preferred to ensure compliance and safety standards are met. Communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective coordination with healthcare staff and leadership, especially when performing under pressure. The delivery driver uses technology such as smartphones and computers to facilitate operations, maintain records, and navigate assigned tasks effectively.
In addition to the primary responsibilities, the driver also provides exceptional customer service by addressing the needs of healthcare facility personnel professionally and sensitively. Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance activities is expected to help keep vehicles operational. The role offers an opportunity to be part of a dedicated team that contributes directly to the smooth functioning of hospital operations by ensuring the seamless delivery of crucial resources.
Working at CHRISTUS Health means joining an organization that values leadership at every level, including leadership of self and others. The company encourages ongoing development and respects diversity among staff. This position is ideal for motivated individuals looking to contribute their skills in a dynamic healthcare environment while enjoying the flexibility of per diem scheduling.
