We are currently looking for a Door Host/Hostess to join our team at the San Jose Improv. This role is crucial to ensuring a high-quality guest experience during live shows, in alignment with the esteemed Improv standards. As a Door Host/Hostess, you will be the first point of contact for every guest, managing the entrance effectively before, during, and after performances. Your responsibilities will include verifying age identification to comply with age restrictions and state liquor laws, managing seating arrangements, and maintaining order in the showroom. You will play an active role in monitoring the audience’s behavior, preventing disturbances such as talking, heckling, or unauthorized photography and recordings.

Beyond these tasks, the Door Host/Hostess will assist in limiting liability by managing customers’ excessive drinking, encouraging responsible behavior, and cooperating with management to remove unruly guests when necessary. The ideal candidate will be friendly, outgoing, and able to communicate clearly and effectively in a fast-paced, lively club environment. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and varied hours is essential, reflecting the entertainment industry's unique schedule demands.
