This role is an exciting opportunity to join JW Marriott as a Bellperson, a vital position responsible for providing exceptional guest services upon arrival and departure. As a Bellperson, you will be the first point of contact for guests, warmly greeting them, assisting with their luggage, and ensuring their smooth transition into the hotel experience. You will guide guests by informing them about the property’s amenities, services, and hours of operation, as well as directing them to local attractions and activities. Your role is essential in shaping the guest’s first impressions and overall satisfaction.

The Bellperson also facilitates transportation needs, helping guests with taxi arrangements, shuttle services, and other transportation options to enhance convenience and comfort during their stay. You will be responsible for maintaining safety and professionalism, adhering closely to Marriott’s policies and standards, and supporting the overall security of the property by remaining vigilant and reporting any suspicious activity. Physical stamina and the ability to handle luggage of varying weights are critical to your success in this role.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
  • Ability to lift and move luggage weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance and over 75 pounds with assistance
  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods during shifts
  • Willingness to follow company policies and procedures
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of proprietary information

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • No related work experience required
  • No supervisory experience required
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally
  • Capacity to maintain a clean and professional appearance
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment

Job Duties

  • Greet and escort guests to rooms
  • Open doors and assist guests and visitors entering and leaving property
  • Inform guests of property amenities, services, and hours of operation, and local areas of interest and activities
  • Identify and explain room features to guests (e.g., use of room key, mini-bar, ice and vending areas, in-room safe, valet laundry services)
  • Transport guest luggage to and from guest rooms and/or designated bell area
  • Assist with luggage storage and retrieval
  • Arrange transportation (e.g., taxicab, shuttle bus, limousine/sedan service) for guests/visitors, and record advance transportation request as needed
