Job Description

Panda Express is a leading name in the American Chinese dining scene and is part of the larger Panda Restaurant Group, which also includes Panda Inn and Hibachi-San. Founded in 1983 in Glendale, California, Panda Express has grown to become the largest family-owned American Chinese Restaurant concept in the United States, boasting nearly 2,400 locations globally with an expansion rate of over 100 new restaurants annually. The brand is recognized not only for its high-quality authentic Asian dining experience but also for creating a workplace culture that values the growth and development of its associates. Panda Express holds accolades such as being named one of "America's Best Employers" and being Great Place to Work certified. It was also distinguished as the safest restaurant chain in the US during the pandemic, reinforcing its commitment to safety and health standards.

Panda Express seeks entrepreneurial and motivated individuals for the role of General Manager. This pivotal leadership position places you in charge of operating a business valued between $1 million to $2 million, managing a team, and ensuring that both guest satisfaction and profitability are achieved. As a General Manager, you will be involved in all aspects of running the restaurant, from hiring, managing, and directing associates to driving sales and profit goals, and maintaining an exceptional guest experience. You will have the autonomy to craft your own success story, supported by a competitive compensation package that includes uncapped profit-sharing bonuses tied to your business growth.

To prepare you thoroughly for success, Panda Express provides a robust 6-plus week Store Leadership Training Program that emphasizes core areas essential for high-performing leadership. These areas include people development—hiring, training, coaching, and developing the right talent; guest experience—upholding the highest standards in food quality and service while understanding marketing principles; financial acumen—managing sales growth, cost control, and profitability; kitchen management—ensuring food safety, inventory control, and culinary skills; and operational excellence—maintaining cleanliness, safety, and compliance with policies and procedures.

The role is full-time and offers a competitive salary starting at $80,000 per year for General Managers, with potential earnings exceeding $100,000 annually including bonuses. Assistant Managers start at $58,000 per year, with potential earnings over $75,000. Panda Express encourages career and leadership development through ongoing training and provides extensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) with company match, paid time off and holidays, associate discounts, and other rewards. This is an opportunity for a dedicated individual to grow their career in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a company that deeply values its employees and the communities it serves.
