Job Description

Established in 1995, DePAW Pet Resort has grown into one of the premier pet care facilities located in Geneva, Illinois. Dedicated to providing exceptional services to dogs, cats, and small mammals, DePAW Pet Resort operates with a strong community-driven spirit where pet lovers and experts come together to create a safe and engaging environment for animals. Offering a wide array of services including boarding, daycare, grooming, and training, this organization supports pet wellness and enrichment in a thoughtfully designed 24,000 square-foot facility. The resort is proud to be affiliated with respected industry organizations such as the International Boarding & Pet Services Association, the Association of Professional Dog Trainers, the ASPCA, and the Better Business Bureau, ensuring adherence to high standards of care and professionalism.

DePAW Pet Resort boasts a management team with over 60 years of combined experience and a team certified in First Aid and CPR, reinforcing its commitment to the highest levels of safety and care. The facility is equipped with modern indoor and outdoor spaces that provide a stimulating environment for pets to play and socialize year-round regardless of the season.

We are currently seeking passionate and devoted individuals to join us as Pet Technicians. This role offers both full-time and part-time opportunities with competitive wages ranging from $16.00 to $18.75 per hour and bonus incentives. Full-time employees working 33 or more hours per week are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package that includes paid time off, sick pay, health insurance, employer-paid dental and vision insurance, employee discounts, and participation in a 401k program.

As a Pet Technician, you will be entrusted with responsibilities critical to the well-being and happiness of the animals in our care. This includes overseeing the safety of pets in daycare and boarding areas, leading interactive activities such as walks, agility, and obedience games, and monitoring the health and behavior of animals to ensure their needs are met promptly and effectively. Physical capability is important for this role as it involves handling dogs of various breeds and sizes, lifting up to 50 pounds, and standing or walking for extended periods. Working environments are dynamic, often lively and noisy, both indoors and outdoors.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate confidence in handling dogs and interpreting their body language, have excellent multitasking and organizational skills, and maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times. Teamwork is emphasized, yet the ability to work independently is also valued. This position does not require prior professional or volunteer experience with animals but does require a genuine passion for the welfare and care of pets.

Whether you are seeking to launch or develop your career in the pet care industry, DePAW Pet Resort provides a unique and supportive platform. We emphasize not only the professional growth of our employees but also a fulfilling work environment where the love for animals is at the heart of everything we do.
