Job Description
Wendy's is a globally recognized fast-food restaurant chain known for its fresh, high-quality ingredients, innovative menu, and commitment to excellent customer service. Established with a dedication to providing a unique dining experience, Wendy's operates thousands of locations worldwide, serving millions of customers each day with its signature square-shaped beef patties, fresh salads, and delectable desserts. The company is committed to maintaining strong operational standards across all its franchises, promoting food safety, employee development, and financial performance to ensure sustainable growth and customer satisfaction. This role falls under one of Wendy's distinguished franchisees, which operates independently from company-owned locations but shares the same values and dedication to quality and service.
We are currently seeking a seasoned District Manager to oversee the overall operational practices of multiple Wendy's locations—typically 5 to 7 stores—in the Buffalo area. Under the guidance of the Market Manager, the District Manager plays an integral role in driving business success by managing key areas such as staffing, training, full profit and loss accountability, and compliance with food safety and health regulations. The position requires hands-on leadership with a focus on coaching and developing General Managers and their staff to meet and exceed company and customer expectations. This role demands frequent store visits to ensure stores maintain exceptional cleanliness, quality, and operational excellence.
As a District Manager with Wendy's, you will be responsible for crafting and managing budgets that align with business objectives, ensuring the financial health of your district. You will interview, hire, and cross-train General Managers and team members, applying corrective actions and disciplinary measures as necessary to maintain high performance and adherence to company standards. Coordination and communication with senior management will be paramount to align district goals with broader organizational strategies and initiatives.
This position offers a competitive base salary complemented by an extensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401k with company match, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, and short and long-term disability insurance. A company-provided vehicle supports your regional responsibilities, enhancing your ability to manage multiple locations effectively. The role expects flexibility in working days and shifts to meet the dynamic needs of fast-paced restaurant environments.
Ideal candidates will bring at least three years of District Manager or Multi-Unit Manager experience in high volume fast food or quick casual restaurant concepts. Prior Wendy's District Manager experience is strongly preferred due to the specialized knowledge and understanding of the brand's operational intricacies. Candidates must be willing and able to relocate to the Buffalo area, with potential relocation assistance offered. A valid driver's license with access to private transportation is required to fulfill the travel demands of this multi-unit leadership position.
Success in this role requires a proven track record of excellence in financial management, staffing, customer service metrics, food safety compliance, and an ability to leverage customer feedback into actionable improvements. Your leadership style should reflect strong communication, interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, and decisive decision-making to inspire and guide teams effectively toward achieving operational goals. This opportunity is ideal for those motivated by results and passionate about delivering superior customer experiences in a fast-changing and dynamic environment.
