Job Description

Estes Forwarding Worldwide (EFW) is a renowned freight forwarding company based in the United States, specializing in providing comprehensive domestic and international logistics and warehousing solutions. As a subsidiary of Estes Express Lines, which is headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, EFW leverages the extensive linehaul network of its parent company to offer a hybrid transportation network that effectively combines air, ground, and ocean freight services. This unique positioning allows EFW to serve clients across various industries globally with tailored logistics solutions that meet the specific needs of each customer. The company has earned significant recognition within the logistics industry, including awards like Specialty Carrier of the Year and E-Commerce Delivery Carrier of the Year, and it is acknowledged by Global Trade Americas as a leading third-party logistics provider to watch.

EFW is currently seeking a Dispatcher for its Linehaul operations in Bensenville, Illinois. This role is integral to the company’s transport category and is essential in maintaining the efficiency and reliability of local and out-of-state deliveries. The Dispatcher will be responsible for ensuring that drivers are dispatched effectively to meet on-time delivery commitments while adhering to Hours-of-Service regulations, ensuring safety and compliance. The position demands excellent organizational and communication skills to notify customers about arrival times and manage schedules that prioritize company goals while supporting drivers in high-pressure situations.

This full-time position offers competitive hourly pay in the range of $22.00 to $27.00, reflecting the company’s commitment to attracting and retaining skilled professionals. EFW provides a comprehensive benefits package that supports employee well-being and professional growth, including paid vacation, sick leave, holidays, a 401(k) plan with company matching, and inclusive medical, dental, and vision insurance plans. In addition, employees are offered short- and long-term disability insurance, life and accidental death insurance, and a job referral bonus program.

The Dispatcher will manage daily and weekly scheduling for local and linehaul drivers, determine optimal delivery methods, and negotiate service rates with vendors and customers directly. The role involves coordinating maintenance for equipment breakdowns to minimize delays and overseeing paperwork and data entry to maintain the flow of critical logistics information. Effective communication and relationship-building with drivers and customers are vital to reduce stress related to unexpected schedule changes, and maintaining compliance with the company's C-TPAT and TSA security procedures is mandatory. The Dispatcher role operates under supervision with no direct reports but plays a pivotal role in the operational success of EFW.

A successful candidate will bring a combination of education and experience, ideally having a High School Diploma or equivalent and 0 to 3 years of dispatching experience within the logistics or transportation industry. Candidates must possess fundamental knowledge of DOT and Hours-of-Service regulations and be proficient in using relevant computer software, including Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, email, and internet. The role requires punctuality, the ability to manage stress, meet deadlines with accuracy, and work independently in a fast-paced environment. EFW prioritizes a diverse and inclusive workplace and complies with equal opportunity hiring practices. All new hires must pass a drug screening and background check. This dispatcher role does not offer sponsorship for employment authorization. Work is primarily performed in a normal office setting, but occasional exposure to warehouse conditions including noise and environmental elements is possible. Physical demands are moderate, with some lifting requirements, and accommodations are made for qualified individuals with disabilities.
