The hospital’s growing network ensures that patients have access to exceptional rehabilitation services throughout the system.

The Dishwasher role at Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital is a weekend shift position vital to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the hospital’s kitchen and work areas. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that all dishes, pots, pans, trays, kitchen equipment, and utensils are thoroughly sanitized in compliance with federal, state, and local standards. The Dishwasher supports the overall mission of providing a safe and sanitary environment for food preparation and service, contributing indirectly to patient care by upholding hospital health standards.

This role requires scrapping and rinsing food from dishes, washing them by hand or using dishwashing machines, polishing silverware, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness. Additionally, the Dishwasher monitors chemical levels, tracks temperatures, and follows safety procedures to prevent hazards. The position may also involve tasks such as sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning prep surfaces, managing trash removal, and assisting with supply transfers. The role demands attention to detail, consistent adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication and customer service skills, good hand-eye coordination, and the ability to follow written and oral instructions. While a high school diploma or GED is preferred, up to one month of related experience or training is acceptable. Physical requirements include the ability to lift and move various weights and perform tasks requiring frequent standing and movement around the work area.
