Operating in over 4,300 schools with more than 16,000 dedicated associates, Chartwells K12 combines decades of expertise in culinary excellence, nutrition, sustainability, and operational proficiency to create innovative dining programs. Their mission is to ensure that students leave the cafeteria happier and healthier by serving food that kids love to eat while maintaining strict standards in food safety and sanitation.

This particular opportunity is for the position of part-time Dishwasher at the Center for Disability Services in Albany, New York. The role is vital in maintaining the clean and sanitary conditions of kitchen utensils, dishes, pots, pans, trays, and work areas. The position offers a schedule from Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM to 2:00 PM, with pay ranging between $16.50 and $17.25 per hour. Although previous dishwashing experience is preferred, it is not required, making this role accessible to candidates looking to join the foodservice industry or those seeking part-time employment in a stable and reputable organization.

The Dishwasher will be responsible for ensuring all kitchenware is sanitized according to established safety and cleanliness standards. Daily tasks include scrubbing, rinsing, and washing dishes either by hand or with dishwashing machines, polishing silverware, and maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen floors and work surfaces by sweeping, mopping, and steam cleaning trash containers. Additionally, the position involves transferring supplies and equipment between storage and work areas, managing waste disposal, and assisting with loading and unloading supplies.

Chartwells K12 values diversity and inclusion, creating an equitable workplace where all associates can thrive regardless of their backgrounds. They also encourage internal employee referrals as part of their staff hiring programs. Benefits for part-time associates include access to health and wellness programs, a discount marketplace, identity theft protection, pet insurance, and other voluntary benefits such as legal services and accident insurance. Full-time employees enjoy additional benefits including medical, dental, vision coverage, life and disability insurance, commuter benefits, and flexible spending accounts among others.

Working at Chartwells K12 means being part of a company that takes pride in maintaining high standards of food safety, employee well-being, and operational excellence in an educational environment. While the role may have unpaid breaks during school holidays, there is the possibility of year-round work depending on business needs. Chartwells K12 is also committed to equal employment opportunities and considers all qualified applicants including those with criminal histories in compliance with local laws.
