Currently, Flik Independent School Dining is hiring immediately for the position of Dishwasher in San Juan Capistrano, CA. This role is hourly, with a pay range from $19.00 to $21.00 per hour. The position offers benefits such as free meals, uniforms, and laundering service at select locations, enhancing the work environment for associates. The Dishwasher plays a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen environment. Responsibilities include scraping and rinsing food from dishes, washing by hand or using dishwashing equipment, cleaning pots, pans, trays, and utensils, and polishing silverware using various tools and machinery. The role requires strict adherence to safety standards and sanitation protocols, ensuring all kitchen equipment and work areas meet health regulations. Additional tasks include sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning food prep surfaces like refrigerators and meat blocks, handling trash disposal and sanitation of garbage containers, and assisting with the transportation of supplies and equipment.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and standing for extended periods
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Must comply with safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to work on feet for long durations
- Good communication skills
- Must be able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior dishwashing or kitchen experience is a plus
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment
- Basic knowledge of sanitation standards
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to follow safety procedures
- Good physical stamina
Job Duties
- Scrapes and rinses food from dirty dishes and washes them by hand or places them in racks or on conveyor to dishwashing machine depending on assigned equipment
- Ensures complete cleanliness and sanitation
- Washes pots, pans and trays based on assigned procedures
- Polishes silver using burnishing machine tumbler, chemical dip, buffing wheel and hand cloth depending on assigned equipment and procedures
- Ensures compliance with outlined safety procedures
- Maintains temperatures and chemical levels as outlined by provided standards
- Keeps dish area orderly and in compliance with safety standards
- Sweeps and mops kitchen floors to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards
- Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks and other food prep surfaces
- Removes trash and places it in designated containers
- Steam cleans or hoses out garbage cans
- Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas
- Helps load and unload supplies and product
- Performs other duties as assigned
