The Dishwasher role is crucial in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen dishes, utensils, equipment, and various surfaces. This position is responsible for ensuring that all kitchen items are cleaned and sanitized according to strict industry protocols, thereby supporting the overall hygiene and efficiency of the kitchen. This role is ideal for candidates who are physically capable of handling the demanding tasks involved, possess strong communication and organizational skills, and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
This is a part-time position with schedules determined based on business needs and event schedules, requiring flexibility and willingness to work varied hours. The offered compensation is $17.00 per hour, reflecting the importance of the role in maintaining the kitchen’s operational standards.
In this role, you will be washing dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and other kitchen utensils either manually or using dishwashing equipment. You will be responsible for stacking and storing clean items in designated areas to ensure ease of access for kitchen staff. Additionally, you will assist in regular cleaning and sanitization of kitchen surfaces such as countertops, sinks, and floors.
You will be expected to maintain an organized dishwashing area and ensure all dishwashing equipment is cleaned and functioning properly by identifying and reporting any malfunctions or maintenance issues to supervisors promptly. Supporting kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling vegetables, portioning ingredients, and assembling dishes may also be part of your responsibilities.
This role requires strict adherence to safety and food hygiene protocols as established by the Executive Chef and other leadership, emphasizing a strong safety culture and accountability for safe work practices throughout each shift. Physically, the dishwasher must be capable of standing, bending, lifting, and twisting for most of the workday, potentially lifting weights up to 85 pounds, and working in environments with varying temperatures.
Candidates with at least one year of experience in the food service industry or similar roles will be preferred, but a strong work ethic and commitment to team collaboration and quality maintenance remain paramount. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift up to 85 pounds
- Physical stamina to stand, bend, lift and twist for up to 90 percent of the shift
- Ability to work in varying temperature controlled environments

Job Duties
- Washing dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans and other kitchen utensils by hand or using dishwashing equipment
- Ensuring all items are thoroughly cleaned, rinsed and sanitized established by industry standards
- Stacking and storing clean dishes and utensils in designated areas for easy access by kitchen staff
- Emptying trash bins and removing garbage from the kitchen regularly
- Cleaning and sanitizing kitchen surfaces including but not limited to countertops, sinks and floors as needed
- Maintaining an organized dishwashing and storage areas
- Cleaning and maintaining dishwashing equipment including but not limited to dishwasher, sinks, and drains to ensure proper functioning
- Reporting any equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues to kitchen supervisor or Executive Chef immediately
- Assisting the kitchen staff with food preparation such as peeling vegetables, portioning ingredients and/or assembling dishes as needed
- Following all safety and hygiene procedures established by the Executive Chef and Food safe practices
- Assisting with the cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment as needed
- Performing any other tasks assigned by leadership
