- Ability to read, write, and speak English and understand diet orders, tray cards, and work assignments
- Numerical ability is necessary for proper measuring of cleaning agents and chemicals
- Knowledge of sanitation and safety practices, including use of gloves while handling dishes
- Thoroughness at handling soiled dishes, serving trays, operating dietary equipment, and cleaning work areas
- Time management with the ability and willingness to work flexible hours

Job Duties
- Act in conformance with all facility and departmental policies and procedures including those relating to human resources, code of ethics and business conduct, health and safety regulations, compliance requirements, patient rights, confidentiality, and HIPAA
- Attend department meetings as required
- Demonstrate accountability to accept responsibility for personal and professional growth and any required certification or licenses
- Complete mandatory training and competencies annually
- Adhere to all policies and procedures specific to the assigned work account
- Follow cleaning schedules and perform cleaning duties as scheduled
