Job Description
The hiring establishment is a food production facility that operates under strict USDA and FDA guidelines to ensure a clean, safe, and efficient working environment. This company is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of sanitation and food safety, which is evident throughout its entire production process. They focus heavily on teamwork, with employees encouraged to support one another across various operational roles to ensure smooth production flow and adherence to safety regulations. The facility prioritizes time-sensitive operations and values meticulous attention to detail and responsibility in all employees. This position is classified as a full-time role and may require some mandatory Saturday shifts based on production demands. Compensation includes a $1.50 shift differential for employees working second and third shifts, reflecting the company's recognition of the importance of shift work in maintaining continuous production.
The role itself is centered on dish room services within this food production setting. The primary responsibilities involve scrubbing and cleaning various items such as totes, buckets, machine parts, and utensils used in the production process. Maintaining a clean and organized dish room is crucial, as is adhering to all USDA and FDA specifications related to sanitation. This includes ensuring that floors and drains pass a protein swab test at the end of each workday, indicating thorough cleanliness and compliance with regulatory standards. The successful candidate will also collaborate closely with other teams, assisting in production duties like filling and restocking, as well as sanitation tasks, further emphasizing the collaborative and dynamic nature of the work environment.
Additionally, employees in this role are expected to engage in general building upkeep and safety practices, such as shoveling snow, sweeping, mopping, and dispersing melting salts, thereby contributing to a safe and orderly facility. Communication is key in this position; employees must report equipment malfunctions and any procedural non-compliance promptly to management, ensuring that episodes of downtime or safety concerns are addressed quickly and effectively. The work environment is fast-paced and requires physical endurance, including standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in temperature-varied conditions due to exposure to equipment heat and cooler/freezer environments. The role also demands good vision skills and the ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
Overall, this dish room position is ideal for a well-organized, dependable individual who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and values cleanliness, safety, and teamwork.
