The role of a Dishwashing Team Member at Whole Foods Market is an essential position within the retail environment, focused on maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen area to support the store’s operations. Dishwashing Team Members carry out a variety of duties including washing, rinsing, and sanitizing dishes, utensils, pots, and pans, maintaining floor and kitchen cleanliness, assisting with deliveries, and ensuring proper storage and rotation of products. Job Requirements

  • No prior retail experience required
  • must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • able to stand and walk 6-8 hours during an 8-hour shift
  • capable of single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling
  • able to perform motions such as bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching
  • exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • able to work in temperature ranges including freezing, refrigeration, and above 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • capable of working in wet and dry conditions
  • flexible schedule availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to use tools and equipment including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
  • may require use of ladders

Job Duties

  • Washes, rinses, and sanitizes dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and small wares
  • maintains cleanliness of floors, mats, drains, walls, and shelves in the kitchen area
  • assists with kitchen deliveries including proper storage, organization, and rotation of products
  • arrives to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
  • works all scheduled shifts and attends required trainings and meetings
  • provides excellent customer service addressing needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and models suggestive selling techniques
  • answers phones and pages promptly and courteously
  • maximizes sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product
  • follows and complies with established procedures including weights and measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices
  • maintains a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment
  • maintains equipment in accordance with cleanliness and safety standards
  • performs opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned
  • ensures accuracy of signs and pricing
