As part of the Baptist Health System, it operates multiple full-service hospitals, specializing in areas such as pediatrics, cancer care, rehabilitation, and more. The system is founded on compassionate service inspired by faith, striving to help people achieve health for life through high-quality care. Known for not just offering healthcare but also nurturing the growth of its team members, Baptist Medical Center emphasizes professional development and work-life balance through a comprehensive benefits package that supports health, retirement savings, and personal needs.
The role available at Baptist Medical Center is the full-time day position of Dishwasher. This position plays an essential part in maintaining the hospital's food service operations by ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of all dishware, pots, pans, and patient tray carts. The dishwasher is responsible for adhering to food safety standards while handling and washing items by hand and machine. The role also requires the individual to maintain general cleanliness of the kitchen and department areas, operate and sanitize equipment, and assist in transporting food and carts to various units within the hospital.
Beyond the basic cleaning tasks, the Dishwasher must ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal health regulations, carefully monitor sanitation control logs, and report any equipment malfunctions promptly. The position demands a strong sense of responsibility and the ability to work efficiently with resources to uphold a safe and hygienic environment for patients and staff. This role offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute to the quality of healthcare delivery, as maintaining sanitary conditions directly impacts patient health and safety.
Working at Baptist Medical Center comes with substantial benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans, a 401(k) retirement savings plan with employer match, generous paid time off, and multiple programs for career development and continuing education. Additional benefits include health savings and flexible spending accounts, an Employee Assistance Program, discounts, and a variety of voluntary insurance options such as pet, legal, accident, and critical illness coverage. The institution values diversity and inclusion, ensuring fair employment practices across all protected statuses.
This Dishwasher position requires certification such as the ANSI Accredited Texas Food Handler or Food Manager course, reflecting Baptist Medical Center's commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards. Candidates equipped with these certifications, a good command of English, and preferably a high school diploma, have the chance to join a respected healthcare system where their work directly supports the hospital’s mission and positively affects patient care.
