At Bi-Rite Catering + Commissary Kitchen located in San Francisco, CA, we are seeking a dedicated Dishwasher to join our dynamic team. This role offers a starting wage of $20.50 per hour and involves a flexible schedule that includes early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. The Dishwasher plays a crucial role in creating an inspiring culinary experience for our guests by ensuring smooth, efficient, and sanitary operations within our catering and commissary kitchen environment. The Dishwasher is responsible for washing, sanitizing, and properly storing all dishes, kitchen utensils, and equipment to uphold Bi-Rite's high standards for product quality and consistency. This position requires attention to detail, dedication to food safety practices, and the ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Beyond dishwashing, the role involves supporting kitchen operations by assisting with menu preparation tasks, receiving and organizing inventory, and maintaining proper labeling and stock rotation to prevent waste and ensure fresh product availability. Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to fulfill the physical requirements of the role with or without accommodations
- Commitment to punctuality and exemplary attendance
- Ability to follow directions and procedures accurately
- Ability to communicate in a concise, clear, and productive manner
- Ability to effectively collaborate with others
- Must obtain ServSafe certification and California Food Handler card within 30 days of hire
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen or food service recommended
- ServSafe certification, California Food Handler card is required within 30 days post-hire
- Continuous standing and carrying between 11-50+ pounds
- Ability to work nights and weekends when needed
- Must be 18 years of age or older
Job Duties
- Responsible for washing, sanitizing, and putting away all dishes, kitchen utensils, and equipment
- Assists with the preparation of kitchen menu offerings as needed, following recipes, cut specification, and packaging to Bi-Rite standards
- Receives, organizes, and stocks all inventory in the refrigerated cases, backstock, and receiving areas
- Keeps all working areas neat, clean, accurately labeled, and well-stocked
- Puts away inventory, paying close attention to proper rotation, accurate labeling, while handling perishable items safely
- Follows all food safety and sanitation practices
