The role of a Dishwasher at Sizzler is critical in supporting the overall restaurant operations by maintaining a clean and orderly kitchen and dining area. This position involves cleaning and putting away plates, glassware, utensils, and kitchen equipment, as well as operating and maintaining the dish machine to keep everything sanitized and ready for use. In addition to those responsibilities, the dishwasher is tasked with waste management duties such as taking out trash and mopping restaurant floors, ensuring the restaurant remains spotless from the kitchen to the dining room and even outside areas. The dishwasher plays an essential role in supporting food preparation by assisting as needed and maintaining proper storage of all orders.

Beyond primary responsibilities, Sizzler encourages flexibility by assigning dishwashers to assist with various departments or special projects that enhance restaurant operations, fostering a collaborative environment. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent
  • 1-3 months related experience or training
  • Current California Food Handlers Card
  • Ability to lift, pull and push up to 50 pounds frequently
  • Ability to stand, use hands, talk and hear regularly
  • Willingness to work in a wet, humid, cold or hot environment
  • Ability to follow instructions and management directions
  • Ability to work as part of a team and adapt to changing work conditions

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or 1-3 months related experience and or training or equivalent combinations of education and experience
  • Current California Food Handlers Card
  • Ability to read two and three syllable words
  • Recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers
  • Ability to speak and understand English both written and verbally
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions

Job Duties

  • Clean and put away all plates, glassware, utensils, and kitchen equipment
  • Operate and maintain dish machine
  • Take out trash, mop restaurant floors and maintain general restaurant cleanliness inside and out from curb to curb
  • Bus tables and maintain dining room cleanliness and sanitation
  • Receives and stores all orders properly
  • Assist in food preparation as needed
  • Assigned to other and or multiple departments besides primary job code as needed
