Black Bear Diner Salem is currently seeking an experienced Dishwasher to join their crew. This position plays a crucial role in the smooth operation of the diner by managing the dishwashing process to ensure that all utensils, tableware, and kitchenware are impeccably cleaned, sanitized, and stocked. The Dishwasher ensures that the dining experience remains seamless for guests by supporting all other crew members with reliable and efficient dishroom maintenance.

As a Dish Machine Operator (DMO), the successful candidate will be intimately familiar with and adhere strictly to all company standards related to their role. Responsibilities include loading, running, and unloading the dish machine, maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of the dish machine, and closely monitoring water temperature and chemical levels to guarantee a sanitary wash cycle. Beyond dishwashing itself, the role involves physically caring for utensils and tableware to prevent damage or loss, as well as keeping the dish room clean and organized at all times.

This position requires a team-oriented mindset, as the Dishwasher may assist other crew members with cleaning and organizing tasks and will also handle routine maintenance tasks like bagging and hauling dishroom trash. Attention to detail is vital to maintain adequate levels of clean tableware both in the kitchen and the dining room, supporting efficient service flow and guest satisfaction. The Dishwasher will also complete assigned sidework duties to support the overall station and shift.
