Job Description
Sodexo is a global leader in providing integrated facilities management and food services, dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals and communities it serves. Renowned for its commitment to sustainability, social equality, and superior service standards, Sodexo operates in various sectors including corporate, education, healthcare, and government. This diversity allows Sodexo to adapt and innovate in every market it serves, maintaining its position as a trusted partner worldwide. At Sodexo, a culture of respect, fairness, and inclusion is deeply ingrained, ensuring every team member is valued for their unique contributions and supported throughout their career journey. The company thrives on fostering an environment where employees feel they can truly be themselves, encouraging open dialogue and collaboration across all levels of the organization.
The role of Dishroom Lead at Sodexo, based at the Liberty University location, offers a full-time employment opportunity with a competitive pay range of $14.00 to $16.00 per hour. This position is ideal for candidates who are team-oriented, reliable, and motivated to contribute actively to a healthy and safe working environment. As a Dishroom Lead, you will play a pivotal role in unifying the team and driving solutions that enhance daily operations. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the cleanliness and maintenance of kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils, ensuring all hygiene standards are rigorously upheld.
You will act as the senior person in the dishroom, providing direction and support to team members within your scope of responsibility. This leadership role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and team management, creating a seamless and efficient work environment. The work schedule involves afternoon and evening shifts on varying days, allowing for some flexibility but also demanding punctuality and consistency. The Dishroom Lead is essential in maintaining the smooth flow of kitchen operations, handling tasks such as cleaning, washing dishes and pots, polishing silverware, sweeping and mopping floors, and managing waste disposal.
An important aspect of the position is the transfer of supplies and equipment between storage and work areas, ensuring the kitchen runs effectively without interruption. Candidates who excel in this role are adaptable and nurture a positive workplace culture, supporting their colleagues and maintaining compliance with safety and operational policies. Sodexo also offers a supportive work environment that values ongoing training and development opportunities to help employees grow their skills and advance their careers.
Additionally, Sodexo provides a comprehensive benefits package that includes paid time off, holidays, medical, dental, and vision insurance, tuition reimbursement, a 401k plan, and a variety of discount programs. Some work locations may provide additional perks such as free meals during shifts, uniforms, safety shoes, and transportation or parking support. The company encourages interested candidates to consider these benefits and discuss any questions about the offerings during the interview process.
This position not only offers a competitive salary and benefits but also the chance to be part of a purpose-driven company committed to making a positive impact on the community and the environment through responsible business practices. Joining Sodexo as a Dishroom Lead means contributing to a better everyday experience for both customers and colleagues, empowering each team member to thrive while delivering excellence in service.
