This opportunity is for an experienced professional to take on the role of Rooms Division Manager, a pivotal position responsible for the overall management and seamless operation of all Rooms Division departments. These departments include Front Office, Housekeeping, Guest Services, Reservation Operations, and Loss Prevention. The Rooms Division Manager will collaborate closely with the Executive Committee to ensure that financial targets, service standards, and employee relations goals are consistently met or exceeded. This role requires a hands-on leader who can participate in staff hiring, training, scheduling, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions, with the support of an operations management team.

The successful candidate will coordinate and oversee daily operations ensuring guest service standards remain exemplary. Maintaining open communication channels with the Resort Manager and other department heads is essential for coordinating programs that motivate and develop staff, as well as assisting in budget development and financial planning for the Rooms Division. The Rooms Division Manager will also be expected to review daily operating results, forecast scheduling, and take corrective action when necessary to maintain operational efficiency. Participation in hotel-wide operational meetings and departmental events is crucial for aligning all areas with the resort’s objectives.

To thrive in this role, candidates must have a strong background in hotel management, particularly within 4-diamond hotel or resort environments, and possess exceptional leadership and organizational skills. This role demands proficiency with relevant hospitality software systems such as Opera, Delphi, and Oracle, as well as the ability to budget, forecast, and manage relationships with vendors and community organizations. The position requires a college degree in hotel and restaurant management or an equivalent qualification, a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays, and the ability to thrive under pressure while working both independently and within a team.

Job Duties

  • Work closely with Executive Committee members to meet financial, service standards and employee relation goals
  • Participate in hiring, training, scheduling, reviewing and disciplining of all staff with support of operations management team
  • Coordinate, supervise and direct all aspects of the operation with support of department heads and assistant managers
  • Ensure guest service standards are met and developed to maintain consistent levels of excellent guest service
  • Maintain close communication with Resort Manager and other department/division heads
  • Recommend programs for motivation and development of staff
  • Assist in developing annual budget and action plans including annual objectives
  • Review daily operating results and weekly forecasting and scheduling taking immediate corrective action if required
  • Conduct daily review of Rooms Division hotel operations with Department Heads
  • Attend hotel operational meetings, rooms departmental meetings and associate-related events
  • Review annual objectives composed by department heads and monitor progress to completion over coming year
