The role of Director of Restaurant Operations at Denver International Airport is a pivotal leadership position within First Meridian Services. The individual in this role will oversee multiple restaurant and retail units, driving strategic and day-to-day operations to ensure seamless service delivery. This includes managing operational efficiency, financial performance, staff development, and compliance with rigorous safety and regulatory policies. The Director will work closely with senior leaders, vendors, and internal teams to enhance staffing strategies, optimize inventory management, and execute continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities also include budget management, mentoring General Managers and managers, participating in hiring and training processes, and ensuring brand consistency across all locations.

The Director of Operations must exhibit strong leadership and communication skills to mentor a diverse team and maintain excellent relationships with stakeholders. They are expected to comply with all applicable regulations, including those set forth by the airport, brand partners, federal, state, and local authorities. Additionally, this role demands a hands-on presence within the restaurants to monitor operations and elevate both employee and guest experiences. Handling financial responsibilities such as payroll, cash handling procedures, and P&L reviews is also critical. Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 10 plus years of restaurant experience
  • 5 plus years in a management or supervisory role
  • ServSafe certification (required within 6 months of employment)
  • proficiency with MS Office Suite and relevant restaurant point of sale and scheduling software
  • strong understanding of front and back of house systems
  • knowledge of Health Department standards
  • effective verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to coach, direct, and influence team members
  • demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • self-directed and highly organized

Job Duties

  • Mentor all General Managers through regular and situational communication
  • create written development plans with tangible goals for GMs and managers
  • participate in the hiring process for all General Managers
  • oversee training of new managers and ensure expectations are met
  • maintain a strong, visible presence in restaurant locations
  • ensure timely and accurate monthly inventory completion and review
  • adjust labor and food orders based on passenger flow trends
  • enforce proper cash handling procedures and collaborate with accounting on cash issues
  • review bi-weekly payroll and make labor adjustments
  • conduct monthly and quarterly P&L reviews and assist in financial review preparation
  • lead new location opening project management and brand relationship management
