Job Description
Our client is a dynamic and rapidly growing multi-unit restaurant organization dedicated to delivering exceptional dining experiences through consistent operational excellence and superior guest service. As a prominent player in the restaurant industry, the company prides itself on maintaining high standards of food quality, hospitality, and cleanliness across all its locations. With a commitment to innovation, sustainability, and team development, this organization fosters a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement to support its ambitious growth plans.
The role of Director of Operations is a pivotal leadership position within the company, reporting directly to the Vice President of Operations or Chief Operating Officer. This role is designed for a hands-on, servant leader who excels in fast-paced environments and brings a proven track record of enhancing multi-unit restaurant operations. The Director of Operations will oversee the performance, profitability, and operational execution of multiple restaurant locations, working closely with a team of District Managers and General Managers to drive business objectives.
In this role, the Director of Operations will be responsible for ensuring that all restaurants meet and exceed key performance metrics, including sales growth, profitability, labor and food cost control, guest satisfaction, and compliance with operational standards. This leader will regularly visit restaurant sites to provide coaching and support to field leadership, ensuring consistent execution of company standards and fostering an environment where team members can thrive.
A critical aspect of the job involves owning the regional profit and loss (P&L) performance, collaborating with the finance team to build budgets, operating plans, and forecasts that align with the company’s growth strategy. The Director of Operations will identify opportunities to enhance profitability and operational efficiency while holding leadership accountable for delivering results.
Talent development is also a key focus, with responsibilities including recruiting, mentoring, and retaining top operational talent. Building strong leadership succession plans and fostering professional growth among District Managers and General Managers will be essential to sustain the company’s expansion. This leader will champion a culture of empowerment that promotes accountability and continuous learning.
Championing a superior guest experience is paramount; the Director of Operations will monitor guest feedback and satisfaction metrics, implementing strategies that enhance brand reputation and customer loyalty. The role also supports new restaurant openings, acquisitions, and operational integrations by partnering with cross-functional teams such as Construction, Training, Marketing, and Human Resources to ensure smooth launches and scalable operations.
Collaboration is central to success in this position, requiring close partnership with various departments to roll out new menu items, technology platforms, operational processes, and company initiatives. The Director of Operations will analyze performance through detailed KPIs and operational reports to identify trends and areas for improvement, driving labor productivity, service speed, food safety, inventory management, and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
This leadership opportunity is ideal for a results-driven professional with extensive multi-unit restaurant operations experience who is passionate about operational excellence and team development. The role demands a strategic mindset combined with the ability to execute tactical initiatives effectively across a diverse and growing portfolio of restaurants.
