Job Description
Opry Entertainment Group (OEG) is a leading entertainment and hospitality company known for its extensive portfolio of iconic live entertainment venues, restaurants, and food and beverage operations. With a commitment to delivering memorable guest experiences, OEG has established itself as a prominent name in the entertainment hospitality industry, blending Southern heritage and contemporary hospitality to create vibrant and unique atmospheres. The company emphasizes values such as growth, development, and operational excellence, fostering a culture that supports both employee advancement and outstanding guest service. OEG operates a variety of food and beverage venues that cater to diverse audiences, including high-volume events, restaurants, special banquets, and catering services, making it a dynamic place to grow one’s career in hospitality management.
The role of Director of Food and Beverage Operations at Opry Entertainment Group is pivotal to ensuring operational success, financial performance, and guest satisfaction across multiple venues. This leadership position involves providing strategic guidance and operational supervision to venue leaders, with a focus on defining priorities, implementing improvements, and reinforcing OEG's values to cultivate a workplace culture that promotes ongoing growth and development. The Director will spearhead initiatives to standardize policies, optimize efficiency, and foster collaboration among various internal departments to support new restaurant openings and food and beverage activations.
A key responsibility includes reviewing daily operations for adherence to company standards and identifying opportunities for process improvements that align with organizational goals. This role requires in-depth financial analysis skills to monitor and maintain cost control, prepare budgets, and analyze productivity metrics such as food sales, labor costs, and guest attendance. The Director also oversees purchasing strategies and vendor relationships to maximize cost efficiency and revenue growth through effective use of manufacturer rebate programs and proprietary products.
In addition to operational oversight, the Director plays a critical role in compliance management, ensuring venues meet all health, safety, and alcohol service regulations. Implementing cutting-edge technology for food safety and responsible service is another vital aspect of the position. Close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including construction, marketing, IT, human resources, and artist programming, ensures successful project execution from new openings to ongoing operational support.
The role demands strong leadership capabilities to attract, develop, and retain talented venue leadership teams. The Director is also engaged in fostering employee engagement and upholding corporate standards in accordance with environmental sustainability goals. This includes recommending and implementing policies to reduce waste and promote food composting.
Reporting directly to the Vice President of Food & Beverage Operations, the Director of Food and Beverage Operations is a high-impact leadership position designed for an experienced hospitality professional with a passion for operational excellence and business development. This is typically a full-time position requiring flexibility and the ability to travel as necessary to support the company’s growth objectives and oversee multiple locations effectively. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of advanced financial acumen, strategic insight, and exceptional interpersonal skills to lead teams toward business success and superior guest experiences.
