With a robust workforce of over 9,800 employees spread across 14 locations, Uline has established itself as an industry leader by consistently delivering exceptional service and dependable supply chain solutions to diverse markets. The company prides itself on its modern, clean facilities and a corporate culture grounded in operational excellence, innovation, and customer focus. Committed to workforce health and safety, Uline operates as a drug-free workplace and mandates pre-employment hair follicle drug screening to maintain its high standards. All positions available are on-site, fostering a strong community and collaborative work environment among employees.
The position of Director of Operations is a pivotal leadership role based at Uline’s expansive California Branch located at 4810 South Hellman Avenue, Ontario, CA. This facility is among Uline’s largest, spanning an impressive 2 million square feet and employing more than 700 professionals across warehouse, customer service, and sales operations. Offering a competitive salary ranging from $300,000 to $375,000 per year, this role demands an experienced leader who excels at building high-performing teams and driving operational success.
As the Director of Operations, you will have comprehensive executive oversight of multiple teams and functions within the Ontario campus. Your leadership will be instrumental in setting the strategic direction, optimizing operational workflows, and maintaining Uline’s legendary customer service standards. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence the performance of one of North America’s foremost distribution centers, where data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement are central to daily operations.
In this capacity, you will lead a diverse group of over 700 employees, including senior management, fostering a culture of performance, accountability, and talent development. You will be responsible for defining clear goals and expectations that align with Uline’s customer-first philosophy and high operational standards. The role emphasizes the use of performance metrics and operational audits to identify and implement improvement initiatives, ensuring every function runs at optimal efficiency.
Collaboration with corporate leadership will be key as you align the Ontario facility’s operational strategy with broader business objectives. This integration ensures that the company’s growth trajectory and customer satisfaction benchmarks are consistently met or exceeded. The Director of Operations will also oversee critical aspects such as employee recruitment, retention of high-performing leaders, and the nurturing of a resilient organizational culture that can thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
Uline’s comprehensive benefits package complements this role, featuring complete health insurance coverage, a 401(k) plan with a 6% employer match effective from day one, multiple bonus programs, paid holidays, generous paid time off, and a Tuition Assistance Program supporting professional continuing education. Employees also enjoy access to state-of-the-art fitness facilities and scenic walking paths on campus.
This is a full-time, on-site position, with Uline committed to equal employment opportunities and veteran and disabled worker inclusion. Joining Uline means becoming part of a legacy of excellence, innovation, and customer-centered operations where your leadership directly contributes to the company’s ongoing success and market leadership.
