Job Requirements
- At least 6 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field
- Ability to work long hours
- Capacity to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally
- Proficiency in Windows and company-approved software
- Knowledge of food and beverage preparation techniques
- Familiarity with health department rules and liquor laws

Job Qualifications
- At least 6 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field, or a 4-year college degree with at least 3 years of related experience, or a 2-year college degree with 4 or more years of related experience
- Proficiency in Windows, company-approved spreadsheets, and word processing
- Knowledge of food and beverage preparation techniques
- understanding of health department rules and regulations
- familiarity with liquor laws and regulations
- Ability to work long hours when required
- Capacity for medium physical work involving lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with all levels of employees and guests
- Skilled at listening, understanding, and clarifying concerns
- Competent multitasking and prioritization skills to meet deadlines
- Consistently attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented approach to all encounters
- Willingness to attend all hotel-required meetings and trainings
- Ability to participate in Manager on Duty coverage as needed
- Commitment to maintaining regular attendance per Highgate standards
- Standards of personal appearance and grooming including wearing nametags
- Adherence to Highgate Hotel standards and regulations for safe and efficient hotel operations
- Proven productivity enhancement skills including identifying problems and implementing solutions
- Effective problem-handling abilities, including anticipating and resolving issues
- Capacity to comprehend and evaluate complex information from various sources
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
- Willingness to perform other duties as requested by management

Job Duties
- Ensure employees are attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to guests, managers, and employees
- Supervise all food and beverage personnel
- Respond to guest complaints promptly
- Prepare the food and beverage budget and monitor department performance accordingly
- Monitor industry trends and take actions to maintain competitive and profitable operations
- Communicate food and beverage issues to Executive Committee members
- Keep immediate supervisor informed of all matters requiring attention
- Coordinate and monitor all phases of Loss Prevention in the food and beverage department
- Prepare and submit reports promptly
- Organize and conduct regular department meetings
- Monitor quality of service and product
- Cooperate in menu planning and preparation
- Ensure timely purchase of food and beverage items within budget
- Oversee the employee cafeteria operations
- Ensure compliance with local liquor laws, health, and sanitation regulations
- Ensure departmental compliance with standard operating procedures
- Train department heads on SOPs and job tasks
- Conduct and attend departmental and hotel training sessions
- Interview candidates for front-of-house positions and follow hiring standards
- Attend required meetings including pre- and post-convention meetings
- Ensure overall guest satisfaction
