The Director of Food and Beverage (FBD) position at Sierra View Country Club is a compelling leadership role designed for a dynamic and motivated individual passionate about culinary excellence and guest service. This role is full-time and offers competitive compensation ranging from $100,000 to $110,000 annually, based on experience. The FBD will be instrumental in shaping memorable dining experiences, overseeing all food and beverage operations across the club’s multiple dining venues, including restaurants and banquet facilities. The successful candidate will dedicate more than half of their time to direct management and supervisory responsibilities, ensuring excellence in food quality, service, and cleanliness.

This leadership position demands a proactive approach to team development and member engagement, with an emphasis on recruiting and retaining top talent, fostering a positive work environment, and promoting internal advancement opportunities. The FBD is the face of the club’s food and beverage brand, tasked with maintaining strong personal visibility to members and guests, actively addressing feedback, and guaranteeing exceptional service recoveries. Additionally, the role requires close collaboration with the Executive Chef to standardize recipes, optimize timing, and enhance training protocols, ensuring consistent product delivery.

The Food and Beverage Director will also take charge of financial and operational controls, including food safety compliance, budget management, procurement standards, labor scheduling, and systematizing training programs to promote operational success. Through insightful use of performance data analysis and active participation in senior management meetings, the FBD will contribute to strategic planning, annual budgeting, and capital project initiatives. Further, the role involves close interactions with the club’s board and management teams to innovate new concepts and respond to market trends, reinforcing Sierra View’s position as a leader in the region.

Ideal candidates will bring 2-3 years of experience in a similar leadership position, a bachelor's degree or associate of science in Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management, and ServSafe Food Certification. They must be proficient in essential computer applications like purchasing and cost control systems, POS, MS Word, and Excel, and fluent in English. Strong communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal, exceptional guest service aptitude, and proven leadership abilities are crucial for success. The work environment is fast-paced and physically demanding, requiring stamina and the capability to lift up to 50 pounds when necessary.

  • Minimum 2-3 years experience in a similar food and beverage leadership position
  • Bachelor’s degree or associate of science in culinary arts or hospitality management
  • ServSafe Food Certification
  • Proficiency with computer systems including purchasing, cost control systems, POS, MS Word and Excel
  • Fluent in English speaking, writing and understanding
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Dedicate 51% of each day to management and supervisory duties
  • Identify, recruit and retain best in class leadership and staff to deliver memorable member moments
  • Ensure excellence in culinary and service execution through ongoing, measurable development, training and advancement of all food and beverage team members
  • Inspire the entire team and drive accountability for ongoing creativity, innovation and improvement of food and beverage product and experiences
  • Act as the face of the club’s food and beverage brand, maintaining the highest level of personal visibility throughout the club
  • Set standards for and ensure accountability of systems to achieve the highest level of quality, consistency and controls across all food and beverage operations
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and culinary lead to standardize recipes and ensure food consistency
