The role of Director of Event Sales at Legends Global is a high-impact leadership position tasked with crafting and executing strategies aimed at growing the events business while revitalizing the brand with a blend of classic charm and modern excellence. This role is primarily onsite at the Central Park Boathouse in New York, NY, with some hybrid flexibility and opportunities for travel to other Legends Global properties and industry events. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher preferred
  • minimum 7+ years progressive event sales experience

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher preferred
  • minimum of 7 years progressive event sales experience in restaurant, hospitality, or live events industry
  • proven leadership managing food and beverage event sales and production teams
  • experience in high-volume, landmark venue environments preferred
  • strong understanding of NYC event business cycle with ability to develop strategic sales plans
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office and hospitality sales CRM systems including TripleSeat
  • exceptional communication, negotiation, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced settings

Job Duties

  • Create and implement an event sales plan to drive revenue growth
  • leverage contacts and conduct outbound sales to introduce event and meeting planners to the Boathouse
  • build and maintain a strong event sales and execution practice, including team training and accountability
  • personally manage sales and negotiations for large parties and events
  • develop and sustain positive relationships with new and existing clients alongside the sales manager
  • manage and motivate the event team, set goals, and operate within budget
  • collaborate with operations and culinary teams to ensure exceptional service and guest experiences
  • create annual budgets, set sales goals, and communicate booking pace
  • set marketing, social, and promotional strategies and collaborate with marketing team
  • conduct outside sales calls, attend trade shows, represent the Boathouse at events, and host prospects
  • monitor competitor pricing and market dynamics to inform action plans
  • work with GM and Executive Chef on evaluating event business opportunities for profitability and speed
  • actively develop subordinates through training and industry event participation
  • maintain updated pricing structures
  • enforce safety practices and complete required training
  • maintain a collaborative and pleasant attitude towards customers and colleagues
  • adhere to company policies and complete other duties as assigned
  • be available for non-traditional hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
