Job Description

Turning Point for God, founded in 1982 by Dr. David Jeremiah, is a globally recognized broadcast ministry committed to delivering the unchanging Word of God in an ever-changing world. With a reach spanning every U.S. state and six continents, the ministry utilizes a multi-platform approach including radio, television, digital media, publishing, and film. This allows Turning Point to connect billions of people globally in multiple languages. Over nearly four decades, Turning Point has evolved from a traditional broadcast ministry to a thriving, content-driven organization with over 230 dedicated employees and a significant global footprint. As a fully donor-supported 501(c)(3) organization, Turning Point remains uniquely independent—free from direct funding ties to any church or external body—and thrives because of a deeply engaged donor base involving monthly and legacy supporters. The ministry's remarkable growth in both reach and revenue over the past few years positions it well for strategic future expansion into emerging content channels, including streaming platforms, film production, and digital ecosystems, thereby enhancing its global impact and relevance.

Headquartered in San Diego, California, Turning Point operates within a mission-driven Christian environment that places a strong emphasis on values such as ownership, relationship-building, and love for people. Employees often enjoy long tenures, some extending beyond 15 to 25 years, reflecting the organization’s stable, values-aligned culture and a workplace marked by collaboration, excellence, and a profound sense of calling.

The Director of Donor Events & Experiences at Turning Point is a pivotal, strategic leadership role within the Development team. This position is not a routine event planning job; rather, it centers on creating and implementing a comprehensive event strategy that enhances donor growth and maximizes fundraising revenue. The director plays a crucial role in evolving events into powerful fundraising tools that advance donors along a continuum—from initial engagement to sustained, major gift partnerships. This role uniquely intersects leadership giving, mid-level development, and revenue intelligence, ensuring every event is intentionally designed with targeted donor engagement strategies and measurable outcomes.

Unlike typical event roles that treat events as isolated experiences, the Director of Donor Events & Experiences is charged with building a repeatable and scalable event system that drives meaningful donor movement, relationship deepening, and long-term giving growth. Responsibilities include designing donor event strategies aligned with donation goals, identifying and targeting high-potential donors, collaborating across multiple internal departments, and continuously measuring and refining event outcomes to optimize impact. This role requires excellence in stakeholder coordination, strategic planning, and relationship management within a fast-paced, mission-focused ministry environment. The successful candidate will be instrumental in shaping the future of Turning Point’s donor engagement model, building a cohesive strategy that seamlessly integrates events into broader fundraising objectives, and ultimately helping to expand the ministry’s global influence and financial sustainability.
