Job Description
Uline is a family-owned company that stands as North America's leading distributor of shipping, industrial, and packaging materials. With over 9,800 employees across 14 locations, Uline has built a reputation for operational excellence, quality products, and exceptional customer service. The company is known for its commitment to safety, innovation, and employee development, maintaining clean, modern facilities and a supportive work environment. Uline is dedicated to fostering high-performing teams and rewarding outstanding achievements through comprehensive benefits and bonus programs.
The Kenosha branch, located at 12355 Uline Way in Kenosha, WI, operates an extensive distribution center spanning over 1.5 million square feet. This facility manages high-volume inbound and outbound operations that support a broad customer base requiring timely and accurate shipments, often on the same day of order placement.
The Director of Distribution Operations is a hands-on leadership role essential to overseeing and advancing the daily warehouse activities. This position requires a leader who not only manages but actively participates on the warehouse floor, demonstrating a strong commitment to accuracy, productivity, and safety. The Director leads all operational aspects, including managing inbound, outbound, and supporting departments to ensure seamless workflow.
Leadership at this level involves coaching and developing warehouse managers who collectively supervise a workforce of over 500 employees. The Director drives operational excellence by fostering accountability and encouraging continuous improvement initiatives that are driven by data and performance metrics. This approach enables the team to maintain industry-leading service standards and meet demanding shipping timelines.
This role demands strong problem-solving skills, decisiveness, and excellent communication to navigate the fast-paced distribution environment. The Director must have a proven track record of enhancing productivity, quality, and safety within high-volume distribution settings. Experience with key performance indicators (KPIs), warehouse management systems (WMS), and performance metrics is essential for success.
Employment with Uline offers a full spectrum of benefits, including comprehensive health insurance, a 401(k) plan with a 6% employer match effective from day one, multiple bonus programs, paid holidays, and generous paid time off. Additionally, employees benefit from tuition assistance for professional continuing education, enhancing career growth opportunities.
The work environment includes a café providing affordable daily meals from local restaurants, an on-site fitness center, and walking paths, all situated within clean, modern facilities designed to promote employee wellbeing and engagement.
Uline maintains a drug-free workplace with pre-employment hair follicle drug screening for all new hires and is an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
If you are a dynamic warehouse leader ready to influence large-scale distribution operations, develop effective teams, and contribute to a company that values innovation and excellence, the Director of Distribution Operations position at Uline’s Kenosha branch offers a compelling career opportunity.
