Job Description
Porters Neck Village is a vibrant senior living community dedicated to providing outstanding care and hospitality to its residents. Located in a welcoming environment, the community prides itself on its commitment to creating a fulfilling and enriching lifestyle for the elderly. Porters Neck Village is more than just a residence; it is a place where the stories of life’s wisest individuals are honored and celebrated. The organization is committed to investing in the future of senior living by focusing on the growth and development of its staff, ensuring that every team member is empowered to deliver exceptional service. This dedication to hospitality and quality care makes Porters Neck Village a leader in the senior living industry, offering residents a supportive and engaging environment. The company promotes a culture of respect, kindness, and professionalism, ensuring that every interaction contributes to the well-being and happiness of its community members.
Currently, Porters Neck Village is recruiting a hospitality-focused Director of Culinary Services to join its team. This key leadership role is responsible for the full-scope, hands-on management of the community’s Culinary Services Department. The Director of Culinary Services plays an integral part in maintaining a superior level of quality, service, and cleanliness in the dining experience provided to residents. As a member of the community’s management team, this individual will uphold the organization’s mission, philosophy, values, and the company’s vision and principles. The position demands a dynamic professional who can lead with both heart and expertise, ensuring culinary operations meet the highest standards while fostering a positive and professional working environment.
The Director will be tasked with developing and maintaining a comprehensive, upscale culinary services program that creates positive dining experiences for residents and visitors alike. This role involves hands-on responsibilities including cooking, serving, and dishwashing as needed, demonstrating a commitment to practical leadership. A crucial aspect of the job is supervising the Culinary Services Department, which includes interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning work, appraising performance, and taking disciplinary actions in accordance with organizational policy and relevant laws. The Director will also research, design, and implement menu cycle programs that comply with nutritional and dietary regulations to support the health and wellness of all residents. Budget management is another vital responsibility, requiring the Director to meet or exceed established financial guidelines. Monitoring residents’ satisfaction by regularly evaluating food quality, quantity, temperature, and presentation helps the Director make operational improvements to elevate the dining service. Moreover, this role supports cultivating a culture where business decisions and employee engagement collectively drive revenue growth and higher community occupancy.
Porters Neck Village’s commitment to hospitality is reflected in their Hospitality Promises, which emphasize greeting residents warmly, treating everyone with respect, anticipating needs, responding enthusiastically, maintaining professionalism, and valuing diversity. These promises set the tone for the high standards expected throughout the community and especially in the Culinary Services Department. For enthusiastic, compassionate professionals passionate about hospitality and senior engagement, this opportunity at Porters Neck Village offers a chance to be part of an extraordinary life and make a meaningful impact in senior care.
