Job Description

TGIS Catering Services, Inc. (Thank Goodness It’s Sofia) is a premier full-service catering and events company based in Southern California with over 35 years of excellence in luxury hospitality. Renowned for delivering elevated culinary experiences, TGIS has built a reputation as a relationship-driven and experience-led organization rather than a volume-driven catering company. The company specializes in high-end weddings, fundraisers, social events, and corporate gatherings, serving iconic cultural institutions, private estates, and large-scale galas. TGIS is widely recognized for its precision, creativity, and flawless execution in every event it handles, ensuring that client expectations are not only met but exceeded through exceptional service standards and attention to detail.

The role of Director of Sales at TGIS is a critical leadership position that focuses on building, elevating, and leading the sales organization with an emphasis on disciplined, profitable growth. This is not a maintenance role but rather an opportunity to take full ownership of the sales team’s performance, establishing high standards, driving accountability, and fostering a best-in-class culture. The successful candidate will be deeply engaged with the inner workings of the business, understanding the nuances of off-premise catering, while balancing the need for aggressive performance improvement with preserving the company’s culture and client experience.

As Director of Sales, you will have direct visibility into leadership, operations, and key client relationships. This in-office role is highly collaborative and requires a hands-on approach to managing a team of Event Managers and sales professionals. You will be responsible for structuring the team, ensuring clear sales processes are in place, and that all performance metrics are consistently met. Key success measures include improved close rates, pricing discipline, revenue quality, stronger venue partnerships, and repeat client growth.

You will lead the strategic alignment of sales efforts with overall business goals and operational execution, serving as a bridge between sales and various departments including Culinary, Operations, Warehouse, and service teams. Your leadership will also extend to recruiting and retaining top sales talent while fostering a high-performance, ownership-focused culture that rewards excellence and accountability.

The Director of Sales will be instrumental in maintaining the TGIS brand’s hallmark of excellence through high-quality client interactions, superior proposal presentations, and the management of high-profile clients and venue partnerships. Success in this role demands a confident leader who is a clear, direct communicator and a strategic thinker capable of navigating the complex logistics of large-scale, luxury events.

Compensation for this full-time, exempt position ranges from $130,000 to $195,000 annually, commensurate with experience, and includes a performance-based bonus structure. TGIS offers a unique chance to shape the future of the sales organization within a company that values long-term relationships and a strong internal culture. This opportunity is perfect for leaders passionate about luxury hospitality and who thrive in dynamic, high-demand environments.
