Job Requirements
- A passion for hospitality and crafting memorable, elevated guest experiences
- Proven leadership with strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities while staying cool under pressure
- High level of professionalism, organization, and follow-through
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift (up to 50 lbs), and travel as needed
- Operate with passion, respect, integrity, dedication, and empowerment
Job Qualifications
- Degree in hospitality, sales & marketing, or related field preferred
- 5+ years of relevant catering or event sales experience, preferably in the hospitality industry
- Track record of achieving sales goals and building strong client relationships
- Working knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and event planning systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- knowledge of industry tools a plus
Job Duties
- Direct all aspects of catering sales to meet and exceed revenue and event goals
- Inspire and lead the Catering Sales team to embody Hotel Drover's values and guest-focused culture
- Build genuine relationships with clients and provide creative, custom-tailored solutions for events
- Lead site visits and develop impressive proposals that reflect Hotel Drover's elevated service and brand
- Collaborate closely with all departments to ensure event success from start to finish
- Monitor service scores, guest feedback, and internal quality checks to implement service improvements
- Recruit, hire, coach, and develop a high-performing, service-driven team
- Forecast and manage catering budgets and drive profitability through strategic planning
- Keep a pulse on the local market, industry trends, and competitors to shape future strategies
- Champion internal communication and host regular team meetings to align goals and share successes
- Act as the department head in the absence of the Director of Sales & Marketing
