Job Description
We are a dynamic and forward-thinking marketing organization seeking an experienced and highly strategic Director of Global Events for a 12-month maternity leave coverage. Our company operates in a fast-paced environment where innovation, creativity, and operational excellence are deeply valued. We specialize in creating impactful global meetings and events that not only reinforce our corporate culture but also elevate our brand and drive measurable business outcomes. The Director of Global Events will join a collaborative team that partners closely with multiple departments including Marketing, Sales, Corporate Communications, PR, Product, and senior leadership to ensure seamless event execution and strategic alignment.
The Director of Global Events will play a critical role in overseeing the development, planning, and flawless execution of a variety of high-profile global events including internal meetings, large-scale conferences, tradeshows, client hospitality programs, and virtual experiences across diverse budgets and formats. This position is remote-based with the requirement to attend the office at 51 Madison Avenue every two weeks and includes 15% travel with occasional evening or weekend work as needed.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in event management combined with a solutions-oriented mindset and exceptional stakeholder management skills. They will be highly skilled at navigating senior-level interactions with confidence, polish, and professionalism while balancing creative approaches with operational rigor. This role demands superior organizational and project management abilities to lead complex, multi-workstream programs effectively and to pivot seamlessly as priorities shift. A key part of this role involves managing vendor and partner relationships, negotiating with trade show partners, overseeing booth builds, and ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards. The Director must also excel at creating best-in-class attendee experiences from registration through onsite delivery and post-event evaluation, including the use of virtual event platforms like Cvent.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint will be essential to produce polished, executive-ready deliverables. The Director will also be tasked with managing event marketing timelines, including collateral creation, invitation workflows, gifting programs, room block coordination, lead generation tools, and inventory management. Strong analytical skills are necessary for managing event registrations, tracking performance metrics, and producing data-driven reports to inform continuous improvement.
This role reports directly to the Head of Global Event Management and offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the strategic vision of our company while driving execution excellence and fostering a culture of innovation. If you are a proactive leader with exceptional interpersonal skills and a passion for excellence in event management, this opportunities will challenge you to grow and succeed in a supportive and vibrant environment.
