Job Description

FirstService Residential is a leading property management company transforming the residential community management landscape by offering professional association management services to over 9,000 residential communities across the United States and Canada. With a dedicated workforce of 19,000 associates, the company is recognized for its commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture, exemplified by its Great Place to Work certification. FirstService Residential places high value on associate satisfaction and growth, providing competitive salaries, comprehensive medical, dental, and retirement benefits, extensive career training, and continuous professional development support. The company prides itself on delivering exceptional service and maintaining the highest standards of personal, professional, and ethical conduct. Its operations are driven by a commitment to quality, safety, and operational excellence, supported by robust policies and Standard Operating Procedures designed to align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

The Director of Food and Beverage for the West Region holds a pivotal leadership position within FirstService Residential, responsible for providing strategic direction and operational oversight for food and beverage (F&B) programs across multiple managed communities in the western United States, including California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, and Colorado. This full-time role offers a competitive salary range of $140,000 to $150,000, plus a 15% bonus, reflecting the significance and complexity of the position. The Director partners closely with association boards, developers, and onsite teams to elevate resident experiences, enhance operational efficiency, and drive revenue growth and profitability.

In this role, the Director leads the development and implementation of F&B best practices and standard operating procedures to ensure consistent, high-quality service across all locations. They are responsible for managing the financial aspects of F&B operations, including budgeting, monitoring profit and loss (P&L), and ensuring financial accountability. The position demands a proactive approach to improving customer service and resident satisfaction by fostering a culture of excellence within F&B teams. This includes talent acquisition, staff development, and providing hands-on support to address operational challenges, including covering onsite positions when needed.

The Director also plays a crucial role in supporting community growth initiatives by creating and executing plans related to new F&B programs, pricing strategies, menu offerings, and service delivery models. They must evaluate existing processes and present data-driven recommendations and strategic options to enhance business outcomes. An essential part of this role involves collaborating with sales teams to support communities that have F&B operations or are exploring the addition of such services.

Operationally, the Director ensures compliance with safety standards, quality controls, and corporate guidelines while managing a high volume of travel—up to 75%—including nights and weekends to attend property events and conduct onsite supervision. The role requires strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently and effectively. Physical demands require mobility and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds, highlighting the hands-on nature of the position.

This leadership position transcends routine management by requiring a strategic thinker who can effectively balance operational demands with long-term growth objectives. The Director’s impact extends beyond day-to-day supervision, shaping the F&B culture and defining service excellence across a broad region. By joining FirstService Residential, candidates become part of a forward-thinking organization dedicated to transforming property management through exceptional service, innovation, and associate empowerment.
