Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Five or more years culinary experience in the hospitality industry
- Food handlers permit as required by state law and company standards
- Valid driver’s license
- Compliance with company motor vehicle policies
- Basic computer skills such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Ability to resolve customer and employee issues
- Availability to manage staffing and operations
Job Qualifications
- Five or more years culinary experience in the hospitality industry
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Able to resolve problems of dissatisfied customers and employees
- Food handlers permit as required by state law and company standards
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
- May require driving responsibilities with valid driver’s license and compliance with motor vehicle policies
Job Duties
- Responsible for the day to day operations and staffing for the kitchen and dining venues of their community
- Manage and supervise all Culinary Services staff including scheduling, assignment, direction, performance review, hiring and corrective action
- Meet regularly with residents and family members to maintain high satisfaction levels
- Work with restaurant manager or coordinator to ensure high levels of customer service and a restaurant style dining atmosphere
- Confirm front of house and back of house staff work closely together to deliver superior food product
- Assist Kitchen and Restaurant staff with back and front of the house operations as needed
- Work with Executive Director and front line staff to maintain Customer Satisfaction and Quality Enhancement levels
- Delegate tasks to staff to maintain cleanliness and quality of kitchen and restaurant areas
- Ensure food is prepared, stored, and served according to standards and health codes
- Maintain Employee Satisfaction scores
- Interview and hire staff
- Conduct and participate in monthly department meetings and in-services
- Manage monthly and annual Culinary Services budgets including documentation of spend on food, supplies, and labor
- Plan and develop recipes and menus based on resident preferences and budgets
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment
- Maintain inventory of kitchen supplies and tableware
- Ensure purchasing standards and vendor relations
- Plan and execute Engage Life events, banquets, and theme meals
- Collaborate with Sales Director and community staff to market the community via special culinary events
- Ensure kitchen and restaurant staff meet company expectations and first impression standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
