The Culinary Services Manager role at Atria Senior Living involves overseeing the complete culinary operations within one of their communities, including kitchen and dining venues. This leadership position requires someone who can efficiently manage and supervise all culinary staff, ensuring that scheduling, assignments, performance reviews, hiring, and disciplinary actions align with company policies. The manager will also work with community leadership to meet or exceed customer satisfaction and quality benchmarks, as well as maintain employee satisfaction. Budget management, including monitoring monthly and annual expenses related to food, supplies, and labor, is a critical aspect of this role. The Culinary Services Manager will also contribute to menu planning based on resident preferences and budgets, maintain vendor relationships, and oversee inventory and equipment care. Special events, banquets, and thematic meals are part of the responsibilities, along with marketing initiatives such as "Taste of Atria - Road Shows" and promoting signature items in conjunction with the Community Sales Director.

This position requires a minimum of five years of culinary experience in the hospitality industry and a High School Diploma or GED. Candidates should demonstrate strong organizational and problem-solving skills, hold a food handler's permit as required by state law or company standards, and have basic computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel. Job Duties

  • Responsible for the day to day operations and staffing for the kitchen and dining venues of their community
  • Manage and supervise all culinary services staff including scheduling, assignment, direction, performance review, hiring, and corrective action
  • Meet regularly with residents and family members to maintain high satisfaction levels
  • Work with restaurant manager or coordinator to provide high levels of customer service and create a restaurant-style dining atmosphere
  • Ensure front of house and back of house staff work closely to deliver food product that exceeds expectations
  • Assist kitchen and restaurant staff with operations as needed
  • Delegate tasks to maintain cleanliness and quality in kitchen and restaurant areas
  • Ensure food is prepared, stored, and served according to company standards and health codes
  • Maintain employee satisfaction scores
  • Interview and hire staff for culinary services department
  • Conduct and participate in monthly department meetings and in-services
  • Manage monthly and annual budgets including food, supplies, and labor
  • Collaborate on recipe and menu planning based on resident preferences and budgets
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment
  • Maintain inventory of kitchen supplies and tableware
  • Maintain vendor relationships and purchasing standards
  • Plan and execute Engage Life events, special events, banquets, and theme meals
  • Work with sales director to market community via events and signature items
  • Ensure staff meets company expectations and first impression standards
