The Director of Live Events and Venue Programming at Tepper Sports and Entertainment is a critical leadership position responsible for the strategic oversight, booking, planning, and execution of all live and private events across company properties. This full-time exempt role reports directly to the Vice President of Venue Operations. The Director plays a senior role in shaping the venue's event portfolio, operating at the intersection of sales, event services, operations, and marketing. One of the core objectives of this position is to ensure seamless event integration that maximizes revenue while delivering exceptional experiences. Key responsibilities include leading booking strategies for various event types, maintaining the master venue calendar to optimize scheduling, and overseeing contract negotiations with promoters and clients.

The Director ensures all events comply with safety, regulatory, and contractual requirements. Oversight extends to stadium conversions and labor operations, where efficient turnaround between events is paramount to operational success. Additionally, this role requires managing the event settlement process, tracking financial performance in real-time, and growing the venue's market presence through innovative programming and business development. The Director also leads and supports internal teams including live events and venue sales to ensure operational readiness and excellence. Financial stewardship is central to the role, requiring the development and management of annual budgets aligned with revenue goals. This position demands a mix of strategic vision, operational expertise, and strong leadership to deliver on Tepper Sports and Entertainment's commitment to world-class events and venue management. The environment is dynamic and sometimes physically demanding, requiring flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holiday events. Prospective candidates must have a strong background in large-scale event coordination within stadiums or arenas and possess excellent management skills to thrive in this role.

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Lead the booking strategy for all live, private, internal, sponsorship, and community events across TSE properties
  • maintain and manage the master venue calendar, balancing internal and external events
  • oversee the booking of private events to ensure coexistence without compromising guest experience or operational efficiency
  • negotiate and finalize contracts with promoters, clients, and partners
  • participate in and lead the bid process for high-profile events
  • monitor industry trends and develop strategies to attract new events
  • provide oversight for Live Events and Venue Sales teams
  • ensure events meet safety, regulatory, and contractual requirements
  • lead pre-event and post-event reviews
  • oversee the Labor and Conversions Manager
  • ensure conversion schedules align with bookings
  • approve and monitor blackout dates and downtimes
  • develop and manage annual budgets
