Job Description

ResCare Community Living, a proud part of the Sevita family, is a leading organization dedicated to providing quality services that empower individuals and enhance their independence. Established in 1974, ResCare specializes in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping them to live more independently both at home and within their communities. As an integral component of Sevita, an influential provider of home and community-based specialized health care with over 50 years of experience, ResCare benefits from an extensive network of resources, training, and support. Sevita’s mission has been to enable people to live full, independent lives regardless of the physical, intellectual, or behavioral challenges they face. Serving approximately 50,000 individuals across the United States with a committed workforce of 40,000 team members, Sevita is dedicated to fostering growth, independence, and inclusion for all individuals it supports.

The caregiver role at Sevita offers a deeply rewarding career for compassionate individuals who want to make a meaningful difference. This position provides the opportunity to directly impact the lives of people with developmental disabilities through person-centered care and support. Caregivers at Sevita are entrusted with the responsibility to assist individuals in achieving greater independence through daily support and skill-building activities. With a pay rate of $9 per hour, this position is an entry point into a fulfilling profession where you develop real, meaningful relationships and are empowered by leadership to make decisions in the best interest of the people you serve.

Caregivers help participants with personal hygiene while providing specialized assistance to those who may have behavioral challenges and other complex needs. The role includes supporting developmental goals such as budgeting, exercise, and nutrition, all while encouraging participants to be active members of their communities. The work environment promotes ownership and trust, allowing caregivers to take initiative and engage clients in their favorite activities. Sevita prioritizes a supportive work culture, with supervisors dedicated not only to participant well-being but also to the well-being and professional growth of caregivers. With full-time employees receiving a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, dental insurance, paid time off, holiday pay, and a 401(k) plan featuring a 3% company match, Sevita ensures both job security and career development opportunities. Training and continuous learning are central, as the company invests in the tools caregivers need to thrive professionally. This role is ideal for individuals who are patient and compassionate, looking to grow within a stable, established, and growing organization that values diversity and equal opportunity.
