Brookdale is currently seeking experienced and motivated Dining Services Managers to join their team. This role is integral to ensuring that residents and employees receive high-quality food service within a well-organized, safe, and pleasant dining environment. The Dining Services Manager is responsible for planning, managing, and coordinating all activities related to dining services in one or more Brookdale locations. The position emphasizes maintaining quality and food safety standards while adhering to budgetary constraints. It requires food service leadership, culinary expertise, and strong management skills.

The Dining Services Manager will be pivotal in developing dining standards, supervising food preparation, managing costs, and maintaining inventory. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- two to four years experience in commercial kitchen operation, line cooking, or equivalent training
- current ServSafe Certification
- state food service certification if applicable
- ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- standing and walking for extended periods
- ability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel
- effective communication skills
- ability to work on-call as needed
- willingness to undergo exposure to communicable diseases and various health hazards
- occasional travel
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- two to four years experience in commercial kitchen operation, line cooking, or equivalent training
- current ServSafe Certification
- state food service certification if applicable
- ACF Certified Sous Chef (CSC) preferred
- extensive knowledge of food safety and sanitation, culinary nutrition, and supervisory management
- working knowledge of Microsoft software preferred
- basic typing skills
Job Duties
- Plan and manage activities of the dining services department at one or more locations
- provide food services for residents and employees
- develop standards for organization and supervision of dining services
- maintain quality dining services within the prescribed budget
- determine quality and quantity of food required and plan menus to control food costs
- oversee food preparation and cooking ensuring adherence to company procedures
- conduct frequent inspections to ensure food safety and sanitation regulations are followed
- prepare cleaning schedules, production worksheets, and staff schedules
- maintain inventory of food and nonfood items
- select, orient, and train new employees and delegate authority to dining services staff
- develop and direct cost control system and prepare department budget
- provide nutrition education and counseling for residents and present educational programs
- ensure safe work procedures including infection control and injury prevention
- implement continuous quality improvement programs and follow-up
