Job Description

Alto Grayslake is a vibrant senior living community located in Grayslake, Illinois, dedicated to providing a comfortable, engaging, and supportive environment for its residents. As part of Allegro Living, LLC, a respected leader in senior living, Alto Grayslake benefits from decades of expertise and a commitment to delivering compassionate care and meaningful lifestyles. This community focuses on ensuring residents enjoy a high quality of life, where every day includes opportunities for connection, joy, and respect. With an emphasis on dignity and personalized service, the team at Alto Grayslake aims to make each resident feel valued and at home in a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

The Dining Server position at Alto Grayslake is a unique role that goes beyond simply serving food. It is an opportunity to play a significant part in the daily lives of seniors by enhancing their dining experience through kindness, attention, and genuine interaction. This position is available both full-time and part-time, with schedules designed to fit various lifestyles and availability. Full-time positions offer over 35 hours per week working morning shifts from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, five days a week, including every other weekend. Part-time positions involve 3 to 4 days per week, with afternoon shifts between 11:00 am and 7:00 pm, also including every other weekend. Compensation is set at $15.50 per hour.

Servers at Alto Grayslake do more than take orders; they build relationships and create a positive dining atmosphere that residents look forward to every day. Responsibilities include serving meals in a manner that respects each resident's preferences and needs, fostering a sense of community and connection, and maintaining a clean and inviting dining environment. The role requires patience, kindness, and the ability to work effectively as part of a close-knit team dedicated to delivering exceptional service.

Applicants are not required to have prior restaurant experience, although such experience is preferred. More importantly, candidates must have a genuine passion for working with seniors, a dependable and punctual nature, and a positive attitude that brightens the dining room. A Food Handler Certificate is required, but Alto Grayslake offers assistance in obtaining this certification after hiring. The community values individuals who want their personality and energy to make a meaningful difference, creating an enriching workplace where employee contributions are recognized and appreciated.
