Job Description

Alta's Rustler Lodge is a renowned ski lodge nestled in the scenic mountains, holding the prestigious title of Trip Advisor's Best of the Best North American Ski Lodge in 2022. This full-time seasonal employment opportunity, available from December 1st through mid-April, offers individuals the ultimate ski job experience where they literally get to ski every day. The lodge provides a vibrant and dynamic work environment, welcoming applications for the 2026-2027 ski season. Staff are immersed not just in the breathtaking alpine setting but also in a warm, guest-focused atmosphere that emphasizes exceptional service, teamwork, and continuous learning.

Alta's Rustler Lodge employs dining room staff who may perform several roles such as server, host/hostess, busser, and food runner, based on lodge needs and individual experience. Servers greet and serve food and beverages, attend pre-meal meetings, and ensure top-notch guest experiences. Hosts and hostesses manage guest seating and reservations, maintain cleanliness, and assist other dining employees as required. Bussers and food runners play a crucial role by maintaining the dining room's cleanliness, assisting servers, and overseeing buffet and omelet stations during breakfast. All dining roles demand a positive attitude, professional demeanor, and a strong commitment to customer service. Employees are expected to work in physically demanding conditions, able to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods, with lifting capacities ranging from 30 to 50 pounds depending on the position.

The lodge offers staff accommodations both as live-in and live-out options. Live-out employees can access shared bedrooms at the base of the canyon with a bi-weekly room and board charge covering three meals daily, while live-in availability is limited or not available depending on the role. Meals are provided during shifts for all employees, and ski passes are included as part of employment benefits, allowing team members to enjoy the mountain fully. The wage for dining room employees is $12 per hour with additional anticipated tips averaging between $300 and $500 bi-weekly. Equal opportunity employment is upheld by the lodge, ensuring a work environment free from discrimination. Overall, working at Alta's Rustler Lodge means becoming part of a passionate team dedicated to providing memorable ski lodge experiences while enjoying the perks of mountain life and seasonal employment in a uniquely beautiful location.
