The role of Dining Manager at Grand Living is a pivotal position that directly influences residents’ dining satisfaction and overall community experience. The Dining Manager is entrusted with overseeing and elevating the quality of dining services across various venues including the Bistro, Casual dining areas, Formal dining rooms, Luminations® Memory Care, Room Service, and Club Room, as well as coordinating special events and private functions. Reporting to the Executive Chef, the Dining Manager ensures service excellence through comprehensive training and management of the front-of-house staff while maintaining the company’s high standards and professional hospitality philosophy, known as The Sterling Touch®. This role demands a combination of leadership, culinary knowledge, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering extraordinary service in an upscale, senior-oriented environment. The Dining Manager must enhance the dining atmosphere by promoting a courteous, helpful, and timely service culture, resulting in a superior dining experience that reflects the brand’s dedication to quality and resident satisfaction. Understanding the unique needs and preferences of senior residents, along with the ability to manage multiple dining venues and events, distinguishes this position as central to enriching the community lifestyle at Grand Living. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Associates degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management or similar, preferred
  • Completion of culinary or apprenticeship program preferred
  • Minimum three years experience managing Food and Beverage or Front of House in upscale settings
  • Manual dexterity to operate kitchen equipment safely
  • Strong English communication skills
  • Physical ability to perform tasks including standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to handle multiple dining venues and special event coordination
  • Commitment to resident-focused service excellence

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Associates degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management or related field highly preferred
  • Culinary diploma or apprenticeship program preferred
  • Three or more years of experience managing Food and Beverage or Front of House operations in country club, fine dining restaurant, or upscale senior living environments
  • Strong manual dexterity for kitchen equipment use
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and understanding English for effective communication and management
  • Ability to train, manage, hire, and direct kitchen and dining staff
  • Capacity to stand, walk, climb stairs, bend, and work continuously without prolonged sitting
  • Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds

Job Duties

  • Enhance resident dining experience through exceptional management of dining services
  • Provide fine dining training and support to front-of-house employees
  • Coordinate culinary and dining activities across all dining venues including Bistro, Casual, Formal, Luminations® Memory Care, Room Service, and Club Room
  • Manage special events and private functions ensuring high service standards
  • Uphold The Sterling Touch® professional, friendly, courteous, helpful, and timely manner in dining engagements
  • Collaborate with Executive Chef to maintain community standards, processes, procedures, practices, and philosophies
  • Ensure high satisfaction levels for residents and their guests through quality and attentive service
