Job Description
Healthcare Services Group (HCSG) is a leading provider of nutrition and dining services primarily focused on long-term care facilities, senior living communities, hospitals, and other healthcare environments. With a dedicated mission to positively impact the communities it serves, HCSG has built a reputation for offering high-quality food services that enhance resident satisfaction and well-being. The company is committed to maintaining an inclusive and diverse workplace that encourages employees to bring their authentic selves to work, fostering a culturally inclusive environment where every team member can thrive. As an equal opportunity employer, HCSG supports diversity and inclusion at every level of the organization, ensuring equitable opportunities regardless of race, gender, age, or other legally protected characteristics.
The Cook position at HCSG is a vital role within the food service team, centered on preparing and cooking nutritious meals specifically designed to meet the dietary needs of residents in long-term care settings. This role demands adherence to high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation, ensuring that each meal not only nourishes but also satisfies residents’ preferences and nutritional requirements. By following planned menus and recipes, the Cook helps maintain consistency and compliance with nutritional guidelines established by the facility.
In addition to meal preparation, the Cook is responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly kitchen environment by following strict food safety and sanitation protocols, which are essential for resident health and regulatory compliance. This includes managing inventory, assisting with the ordering of supplies, and supporting efforts to minimize waste and optimize operational efficiency. Interaction with residents, staff, and guests is a key part of the role, emphasizing excellent customer service and teamwork. The Cook’s contributions directly impact the overall dining experience, which plays a crucial role in enhancing residents’ quality of life.
The position offers a competitive hourly pay rate between $18.00 and $20.00, reflecting factors such as location, experience, and staffing needs. HCSG also provides a comprehensive benefits package available to all employees, which includes free telemedicine services, a prescription discount program, employee assistance programs, financial wellness support, hands-on training, and career development opportunities. These benefits show a strong commitment to employee well-being, professional growth, and work-life balance.
HCSG’s Cook role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about food preparation in a healthcare setting and want to make a meaningful difference by providing nutritious meals that improve residents’ health and satisfaction. The company supports ongoing learning and safety training, requiring current ServSafe or Food Handler certification based on state or county law and may require completion of sanitation and safety courses. Physical requirements include the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull items up to 50 pounds, and sustain prolonged periods of standing, sitting, bending, or walking. Candidates must also comply with COVID-19 vaccination policies and reside within the service area.
By joining HCSG as a Cook, employees become part of a collaborative, respectful, and community-focused team working in a stable and rewarding environment. Whether seasoned or entry-level, those who share the company’s commitment to excellence and resident-centered care will find opportunities to grow professionally and contribute to a purpose-driven mission.
