In the role of Cook at HCSG, you will be an essential part of the food service team within a long-term care facility. Your primary responsibility will be to prepare and cook meals that meet planned menus and recipes while ensuring that all food quality, taste, and presentation standards set by HCSG are met. This position requires adherence to stringent food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and orderly kitchen. The Cook will also play a role in inventory management and assist in ordering supplies as needed, ensuring the kitchen remains well-stocked and efficient. Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience as a cook or in food preparation preferred
- compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies
- able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- able to push and pull up to 50 pounds
- able to stand, sit, bend, and walk for extended periods
- able to perform repetitive tasks
- able to work around food and cleaning products
- may complete approved sanitation and safety course
- current ServSafe or Food Handler certification required according to state or county law
- residency within the service area required
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent

- ability to follow recipes and dietary restrictions
- maintain a positive attitude and effectively communicate with building occupants, administration, and HCSG leadership
- compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies
- must be able to lift/carry a maximum of 50 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend and walk for extended periods
- must be able to perform routine, repetitive tasks continuously
- must be able to work around food and cleaning products
- may be required to complete an approved sanitation and safety course
- current ServSafe or Food Handler certification is required based on State / County law
- residency within the service area required
Job Duties
- prepare and cook meals according to planned menus and recipes
- ensure food quality, taste, and presentation meet HCSG standards
