The role of Dining Services Technician I within Westminster St. Augustine is a vital position aimed at supporting the dietary team in the Health Center. This part-time role involves a range of responsibilities including minor food assembly, tray assembly, delivery and service of food, as well as dishwashing and cleaning tasks as assigned by the supervisors. The technician plays a crucial part in enhancing the residents' dining experience by ensuring timely and accurate meal service, maintaining food safety standards, and contributing to a warm, welcoming atmosphere. This position requires attention to detail, customer service skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

As a key member of the Dining Services team, the technician ensures that all meals and nourishment are prepared and delivered according to established guidelines, supporting the health and well-being of the residents. The role demands coordination with the dietary and health center teams, adherence to sanitation protocols, and the flexibility to perform various duties that contribute to overall dining operations. Job Requirements

  • 3 to 6 months experience in a high volume dining environment or residential clinical dining environment
  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language and understand and follow written and oral directions
  • Ability to perform basic math skills
  • Basic knife handling skills
  • Customer service skill sets
  • Full understanding of food service methods in a high volume full service dining environment
  • Florida Safe Staff certification required or ability to obtain within 90 days of date of hire

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent desirable
  • Customer service skills
  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language
  • Ability to perform basic math skills
  • Basic knife handling skills
  • Full understanding of food service methods in a high volume full service dining environment
  • Florida Safe Staff certification required or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire

Job Duties

  • Perform table service and excellent customer service based on established serving standards and guidelines
  • Perform table service in a friendly, caring, professional and timely manner
  • Serve the resident's meal according to meal ticket
  • Perform light cleaning and stocking duties as assigned by the supervisor
  • Wash dishes, cut desserts and prepare items for the next scheduled meal period or day
  • Maintain temperature and sanitation logs as assigned by the supervisor
