This job provides hands-on experience with a diverse range of vehicles from multiple manufacturers, encouraging skill growth through training, mentoring by master technicians, and access to Penske’s Technician Certification Program, which is recognized as a Continuing Automotive Service Education provider.
The role requires mechanical aptitude and offers a dynamic work environment where no two days are the same. Safety and quality take precedence, and employees are trained to uphold the highest standards, complying with DOT, OSHA, and Penske safety policies. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- 1-2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to solve problems
- Comfort using tools
- Excellent customer service skills
- Communication skills
- Ability to work well as part of a team and independently
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to understand and comply with management guidelines and safety policies
- Ability to perform work adhering to DOT, OSHA, and Penske safety policies
- Regular, predictable attendance
- Maintain a current driver qualification file as required by DOT regulations
- Willingness to work required schedule and location
- Ability to pass background screening, drug screen, and physical as required by DOT
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safely
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 100 pounds
- Willingness to travel locally for training
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- 1-2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license

Job Duties
- Ensuring vehicles are maintained and safe for customers
- Using Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics
- Performing preventative maintenance repairs such as tire replacement or rotation, vehicle component lubrication and replacements, some electrical system repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engine vehicles
- Partnering with managers to learn new skills through Penske’s technician training and hands-on coaching
- Working on assigned projects and tasks as directed by supervisors
