The Desktop Support Engineer position based in Albuquerque, NM, presents an exciting opportunity to join Hexaware’s full-time onsite IT support team. This role is vital in ensuring smooth operations of end-user computing environments by providing Level 2 technical support both onsite and remotely. The engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving a wide array of issues related to hardware, software, network connectivity, and peripheral devices. Key tasks include managing device configurations, conducting system diagnostics, executing device reimaging, and performing security patching and updates to maintain compliance. This highly interactive role involves coordinating with vendors, OEMs, and various internal IT teams to manage assets, support office moves, and efficiently handle incident escalations.
Beyond typical desktop support duties, the engineer will also play a hands-on role in maintaining network infrastructure components such as switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points. Part of the job includes supporting server rooms and IT closets, managing physical and digital inventory, and ensuring optimal operating conditions of equipment like UPS systems and cooling units. The candidate will also assist with AV and conference room technologies, including Microsoft Teams Rooms integration, audiovisual equipment setup, and troubleshooting. Job Requirements
- Associate's degree in information technology or related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience in desktop support or IT infrastructure roles
- Strong knowledge of Windows OS and hardware troubleshooting
- Experience with remote support tools and patch management
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills
- Willingness to work onsite fulltime in Albuquerque, NM
- Familiarity with network infrastructure components
Job Qualifications
- Associate's degree in information technology or related field
- Proven experience in desktop support engineering or similar role
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, hardware components, and networking fundamentals

Job Duties
- Provide Level 2 deskside and remote support for hardware, software, account, VPN, authentication, and end-user issues
- Configure, manage, repair, reimage, and validate end-user devices, including BIOS, OS, drivers, applications, and security settings
- Use approved tools for remote diagnostics, patching, software upgrades, and system compliance verification
- Perform device reimaging, data backup/restore, OneDrive sync validation, and re-encryption
- Support office moves, device disconnect/reconnect, network validation, and asset/CMDB updates
- Provide dispatch support for non-dedicated sites and coordinate with vendors, OEMs, and third parties
- Implement approved changes, decommission devices, manage spares, and maintain bench inventory
- Provide smart hands support for network infrastructure such as switches, routers, firewalls, SD-WAN, Wi-Fi access points, cabling, patching, and circuit troubleshooting
- Support server rooms, IT closets, rack/stack activities, cabling, labeling, power checks, UPS, cooling, and physical inventory updates
- Assist with conference room and AV technologies, including Teams Rooms, displays, cameras, microphones, cabling, mounting, and meeting support
- Support GMP and non-GMP lab computing environments with diagnostics, device swaps, connectivity checks, and compliance activities
- Provide printer and scanner support, including installation, relocation, queue management, troubleshooting, vendor escorting, and escalation
