This time, Avant Garde Event Services is seeking motivated, hardworking Contract Bar Backs to join their team for the Denver Oktoberfest 2026. This role operates on a temporary contract basis during two consecutive weekends on September 18-20 and 25-27. Bar Backs will provide essential support to bartenders in a high-volume, fast-paced festival environment, ensuring that bars remain fully stocked, clean, and efficient to maximize the guest experience. The pay is set at $11.71 per hour, and Bar Backs are included in the tip pool, which typically yields well above average tips at this event. Compensation includes distribution of cash tips the day after the event and credit card tips added to the paycheck 12 days after the event concludes. Candidates must complete an Independent Contractor Agreement and IRS Form W9 before payment.

The role requires excellent physical stamina, as Bar Backs are expected to carry heavy loads up to 50 lbs, stand or walk for long shifts, and perform tasks such as keg changes, restocking beverages and supplies, and trash removal under various weather conditions. A strong team-player attitude and organizational skills are vital to succeeding in this environment. Bar Backs will be pivotal in adhering to appearance standards and alcohol service regulations, further ensuring the smooth operation of the bars throughout the event.
