Job Description
Our organization is a reputable dental health center committed to providing exceptional dental services to diverse and underserved patient populations. We pride ourselves on fostering a welcoming and professional environment where patient care and satisfaction are paramount. As part of a dedicated team of dental professionals, our center offers comprehensive dental care using state-of-the-art technology and evidence-based practices. With multiple clinic locations, we ensure accessibility and quality service to a wide community base. We are currently seeking a Dental Receptionist I to join our front office team. This is a full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, rewarding healthcare environment where excellent customer service and office efficiency are key to our success.
The Dental Receptionist I plays a vital role in the smooth operation of the dental clinic by managing patient interactions from the moment they arrive until they depart. The receptionist is responsible for welcoming patients warmly, handling all administrative duties related to patient registration, insurance verification, appointment scheduling, and communication between patients and dental providers. This role requires excellent organizational and multitasking skills, the ability to manage sensitive patient information with confidentiality, and proficiency in various software such as Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health record systems including IMS, EPIC, and Dentrix. The position involves answering phones, managing appointment books, confirming appointments, responding to voicemails and messages, and ensuring all patient records and consent forms are accurate and up to date.
In addition to administrative responsibilities, this role requires a high degree of professionalism and the ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team focused on delivering compassionate, non-discriminatory dental care. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in a receptionist or related role, be bilingual in Spanish to better serve our diverse patient community, and demonstrate a commitment to maintaining a clean, organized office environment. The Dental Receptionist I is also expected to manage cash handling and daily bookkeeping tasks reliably, travel between clinic locations to provide coverage as needed, and contribute positively to patient rapport and overall clinic ambiance.
Working conditions include sitting, standing, and walking for 7 to 8 hours daily with occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds. The role may involve exposure to clinical environments with potential contact with bodily fluids and hazardous materials, demanding strict adherence to health and safety protocols. Flexibility to work on Saturdays and travel between clinic sites is also required. By joining our team, you become part of a health center that values punctuality, independence, problem-solving skills, and a passion for patient-centered service, making a meaningful impact on community health outcomes.
